Happy New Year

Hi all.  It has been quite a while since I last posted.  I have been very busy working on my Christmas cards, my Zentangle projects, singing concerts and lots of parties!  I am posting some of the work that I have done in the past few months...

I have started pressing leaves and flowers to see what kind of impression I can get.
I then tangle the leaf.  The color is natural from the leaf.  I have made some into cards.

This is jus a random Zentangle that I colored and made into a card.

These Zen Gems were from a class that I did.  It is hard to figure out which is the
teacher and which is the student.  I'm not even sure if I remember, LOL!

This is another pressed leaf.  I love how the natural color turned out!

I was feeling like I was running around in circles and this just came out...

Just playing around with a purple ZenGem and some different tangling.

I did this horse from a template by Ben Kwok for a friend that loves horses.

This is another template from Ben Kwok that was a Mandala.  I turned it into a
Zendala with different colored gems.  It is really beautiful in person!

I purchased some open stamps that I could tangle.  I did this one with
black and brown Microns and a white gel pen.

Another Ben Kwok template of an antique shoe.  I decided to do the
buttons in green gems to give it character.

This is just a tile that I did to play around with some patterns.
I did this as an Swap Bot exchange.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my latest work.  As I mentioned, I have been very busy.
Hopefully, I will not wait this long to post again!

Till next time...

Some New Projects

I have been very busy, tangling.  I have so many tiles that I have done in the past few months that I can't even post them all.  I know, I shouldn't have waited so long to post.  However, I have also been very sick so that is my excuse and I'm sticking to it!  I am somewhat better, but still, not 100%.  So, here is some of what I have been doing...

Hope you enjoyed seeing my work.

Till next time...

Here are some of my most recent ZIAs.

The first one is a hummingbird that I did from a template done by Ben Kwok.  I  printed it on watercolor paper and colored it with watercolor paints.  It is much more vibrant in person.

This one is a Zendala greeting that I made for a special order.   I had to make 12 of
them!   I stamped the image on watercolor paper and tangled and shaded it to give it more
dimension.  I added yellow to the dots and did the background in a shaded blue.  Then, I
cut out the Zendala and the scalloped background with a die cut machine and mounted
it on a yellow card base to make the yellow dots pop.

This is just something that I did to experiment with coloring with gel pens.
I used a string but did not use my pen to outline most of it.

This is a Valentine swap that I did with one of the groups that I belong to.

I hope you enjoy seeing my work.  Thank you for looking.  Please leave me a comment and
let me know that you were here.  I LOVE to get comments!  Thanks.

Till next time...

See what I did!

Hi all.  I just have to show you what I did with my butterfly ZIA...I copied the B&W one on a lighter watercolor paper and then used my iridescent watercolor paints to give it color.  I decided to post it on a local web site.  They had a classified section and I just on a whim, posted it there, for sale.  I had a response the next morning from a woman who wanted to buy it!  By then, my husband had already made a mat for it.  She said that she would pay the extra money for the matting.  I have since, gotten 2 more orders for the butterflies!  I love the idea of printing out the B&W and painting that.  It leaves the original, untouched!

The pic hasn't been cropped or matted yet so There are some pencil marks on the top and warped lines from the scan.  These have all disappeared after it was matted.

Here is another new ZIA that I made using a rubber stamp, for the face.  The rays are done freehand.

This particular tile was made for a swap.  The theme was sun.

I hope you enjoy seeing my new work.

Until next time...

Welcome...

Hello and thank you for checking out my new blog.  I have another blog at  bloogspot.com for my cards and gifts.  This is a blog about Zentangle.  I am a certified Zentangle® teacher (CZT).  I am available for private and small classes.  I will be displaying some of my work on this blog.  I am going to start with a couple of them that I have done over the last 2 years.  I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I enjoyed drawing them!

This first Zentangle® inspired art is done using a stamped image (the face) and hand drawing the rays.  I then tangled on each ray and colored it with colored pencils.

This piece is a freeform that was done totally in black and white, without any shading.

This is another freeform tile that I shaded and colored with colored pencils.

This is another tile that I did freeform and shade.

More to come soon...

Please be sure to check out my other blog:
