Diva Challenge, More ZenGems

Hi all.  Today, I decided to enter the Diva's Challenge #252.  It has been quite a while since I entered one of her challenges, but I like this one a lot so I decided to enter.  The challenge was to draw an oversized tangle to use as the string and then tangle in the tangle.  I chose to do Hollibaugh as my string/tangle and used several different tangles within.  I don't actually remember the names of all of the tangles that I used but I don't think that is really an issue.  If it is, I am sorry.  I just used what I felt would fit the string.

Here are some more things that I have been working on...

Some Zen Gems...

The tangles used for the tile below are Arukas on the top, Jetties
on the left, Rick's Paradox on the right and Beadline on the bottom.

Thanks for looking.  Please leave a comment so I know that you were here.  I would
love to hear from you!  :-)

Till next time...

Some Interesting Work and I am the Diva Challenge #228

Hi all.  I have been a busy girl this past month.   First, (on the first) of July, I started taking a new a new medicine and I passed out on the bathroom floor, flat on my face!  I broke my nose and a tooth and mashed in another 2.  My husband called 911 and I went to the emergency room (6:00 AM) where they checked me in and got me to a room pretty fast.  I was there for 5 days!  While I was there, I was having some pretty weird dreams and it inspired my creativity quite a bit.  My teeth are well on their way to being as good as new.  (I won't go into the details)  So, a couple of days ago, I started taking another new medicine (different one for something else).  I started itching after a day or so and broke out in HUGE welts!  They are red and big (about the size of a silver dollar) and itch like crazy!!  Went to my primary (for something else) and he put me on Prednisone for a week.  Having cancer is such a blast!  There is always something!  I have also been busy teaching Zentangle classes.  This has been my busiest month so far.  I did about 5 classes.

Anyway, Here are some of the things that I have been working on...

This one is drug induced, I swear!  It is an organic underwater scene that I am going to enter into

This is another organic tile that I did on a black tile with colored pencils, that I am also
entering into the I am the Diva challenge #228.
This is a dove from Oration Creation.  I haven't shaded it because I might do some color.

This is a larger piece that I did using a fairly new product call Color Burst pigment powders.
It's a bit on the dark side, but I like it.  Haven't decided if I am going to frame it in one piece
or cut it into smaller sizes.

I showed this cat, earlier but I decided to add more color and framed it and sent it to my sister
for her birthday.  She was thrilled!

Hope you enjoyed seeing my latest work.

Till next time...

I am the Diva Challenge 190

This is one challenge that I thought I should definitely enter.  It is all about breast cancer, since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  My mom had breast cancer in her 40's.  In her late 70's and early 80's, she had numerous bouts with other cancers.  She passed away at the age of 83 from pancreatic cancer.  She never got to know about my own cancer (thank God) and never knew about Zentangle® or that I became a CZT, because of cancer!  I am entering this challenge in her memory @ I am the Diva CZT.  I am also dedicating it to the Diva's grandmother, Ardath who passed away from breast cancer.

I am also entering it in Adele Bruno's Tickled to Tangle String Thing #66.

Thanks for looking!

Till next time...

I am the Diva Weekly Challenge and 2 more tiles...

Hi all.  I have finally decided to make a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) and actually post it on I am the Diva's challenge blog.  As I mentioned in my last post, I made one, but didn't post it.  I figured it was time to bite the bullet and do it!

It is not quite what I expected.  It turned out a little dark, but it is my "first".  I sprayed it with a meadow green ink spray and then sprayed it again (lightly this time) with a gold ink.

Here are a couple more that I have done since yesterday.  I have been quite busy!

I thought this would be interesting with the heavy black line around it and the white in the middle.

With this one, I decided to leave a lot of white space.  I really like the way it turned out!
I guess 1 out of 3 isn't too bad!  LOL!

Till next time...

Some Interesting Work...

Hi all.  I have been doing some interesting work lately...

This first one is called Found and Tangled.  The object is to take a page from a book, highlight different words to make a poem (or something that kinda makes sense.  Then you can draw or tangle on it.  My poem says:
Spectacular Leaves across bright shining yellow flowers.
Clusters form rose-colored flowers.
Dense flower clusters spread seeds.
Leaves have arching branches with shiny flowers.

This next one is a Zentangle that I had done a while back.  I painted the wood frame and put the Zentangle into the opening.  This was donated as a piece for a Chinese auction to raise funds for Project Legacy.  The project raises funds to help children in my county.

I drew this one yesterday in Sunday School (where I do a lot of my work).  I finished the shading last night while waiting for friends for dinner.  I signed it on the back and presented it to them.  They are moving away in 2 days and I wanted them to have a small gift from me.

This last Zentangle was made for the Diva Challenge last week.  I don't think I actually submitted it, but here it is!

Hope you enjoy them!  Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think!
Thanks,

Till next time...
